Summer is coming. Or already here, depending on where you are. With it comes, even more, heat and the need to keep yourself and your pets cool. Here’s some advice on how to make sure your pets are comfortable in the hottest parts of the year. It goes beyond just dog beds Perth, you know.
First, keep any water in the shade. Make sure the dish is secured, so there’s no spill.
If you can afford it, get an automatic pet water bowl. This helps make sure your pet can drink when they’re thirsty, and the water won’t evaporate in the bowl.
Bathe your pets! A nice bath without soap is a good way to cool your dog down. A garden hose to wet down the pet works, but you can also use a cold, wet towel for the same reason. It helps them cool down, but they might not understand at first. Do not use ice-cold water or ice.
A dip in the pool is also good. If you don’t own a pool, an inexpensive child’s pool or rubber water through work too. However, be sure to keep an eye on them if there’s a deep end. Your pet might drown.
Sprinkling your pets a day can help. Running, cool water is a great way for pets to keep fresh, and lawn sprinklers are a good way to handle that. Take notice of your pet’s behaviour when a sprinkler goes on, though. Sometimes, they may not like it at all.
Grooming is also important. Sometimes, a good way to cool off your pet is a full shave. However, this may not be a good idea if you have a breed that is light-skinned.
Finally, the easiest way to keep your pet comfortably cool is to give them a lot of shade. Be sure that the area they’re in gets shade no matter the position of the sun. It changes through the day, you know.
